The 2" Inflatable Pipe Double Purge Bag System by 8-PPM Purging is an advanced solution designed for efficient and reliable weld purging in pipe fabrication. This innovative system utilizes a dual-dam principle, featuring two inflatable dams connected by an armored spinal tube. These dams create a secure seal on either side of the weld joint, positioned optimally to avoid heat effects while ensuring the fastest possible weld purge time. To initiate purging, the system is easily inserted into the pipe's bore. A luminous strip on the system aids in precisely centering it to the weld gap, ensuring accurate placement. Once the gas flow begins, the dams inflate, and upon reaching a pre-set pressure, a specialized valve gently releases inert gas into the weld chamber. This controlled release purges the interspace without turbulence, preventing contamination and ensuring a clean environment for welding. The integral exhaust tubes within the bags efficiently remove oxygen from the weld chamber, facilitating the production of an even, oxidation-free penetration weld bead. For optimal results, the system is designed to be used in conjunction with 8-PPM Purging's oxygen monitors, which indicate when the required low level of oxygen has been achieved, signaling that welding can safely commence. After welding, the dams are quickly deflated by simply disconnecting the purge gas feed, allowing for easy withdrawal of the system. A key design advantage of this system is its requirement for only one gas connection for both dam inflation and weld purging, simplifying setup and operation. The Purge Bag system comes equipped with versatile fittings to accommodate various international standards: an International 21 KA series male connector and an Americas ¼" (0.25") NPT male connector.
